Our Story

Kerr’s Bookshop is an independent bookshop, and has been an integral part of Clonakilty for over thirty years. The Kerr family purchased the premises in 1992 and Trish manages the lovely Bookshop in the heart of this popular West Cork town. The family have always lived overhead, as was the traditional way of local owner-managed businesses back in the day.

Small but uniquely formed, Kerr’s is a general bookshop with a particularly good selection of current titles from Modern Literature to Irish Interest and much more. The Bookshop also has an excellent section devoted to children’s books, and many of our first customers now return with children of their own. This award-winning Bookshop has a charming atmosphere, and is a relaxed haven in the centre of beautiful Clonakilty. It is the perfect shop for browsing.
